PRIVACY POLICY
Okay, so what am I going to do with your personal data?
Well, you can relax, not much is the answer (more details below). Obviously, I would like to use it for world domination but apparently that’s unlawful and stuff….how boring!
So, instead I will only use it for the following non-world domination purposes:
I only collect the minimum in order to keep you updated and to offer you some great deals, updates, and some marketing materials.
Here’s the skinny on personal data:
You can access and browse my site without disclosing any of your personal data. I don’t collect personal information about individuals, such as names and mailing or e-mail addresses unless it is knowingly provided by the individual and he or she has agreed to the terms under which I will use it. The usual method of collection is via the forms on our site but you choose whether to provide me with that data in order that we can provide some more services (updates) to you.
If you do not enter your information into any forms, I cannot and will not store any of your personal data. I operate on a ‘data minimisation’ system at all times.
I aspire to comply to the fullest extent possible with applicable data protection regulations in-particular the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and ePrivacy Directive, where applicable. However, if you choose to fill out a form, such as when commenting on the website, reaching out to us via a contact form, signing up for our awesome newsletter or anything else that requires you to physically write in your information, we collect the data you surrender and store it securely.
Disclosure Of Information
I will not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We do not automatically log personal, identifiable data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals.
We do automatically collect certain information about you and the device with which you access the Website. For example, when you use the Website, we will log your IP address, operating system type, browser type, referring website, pages you viewed, and the dates/times when you accessed the Website. We may also collect information about actions you take when using the Website, such as links clicked.
We may use IP addresses to compile and provide aggregate statistics about our visitors, traffic patterns, and administer the site. This statistical information may also be related to third parties that help provide the services.
IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. We collect only the personal data that you may volunteer while using our services. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organisations.
If you do not want to have your information used in this way, send an e-mail message containing your name and email address to Admin (at) philkurthausen (dot) com.
I may release account information when such release is reasonably necessary to comply with the law; enforce the terms of any of our user agreements; or protect the rights, property, and safety of us, the users of its site, or others.
Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of young children is important to us. For that reason, we do not collect or maintain information on our site from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our site is structured to attract anyone under 18.
Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice.
This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.
Third-Party Links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies.
We have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
Affiliate Disclaimer
I do have financial relationships with some of the brands and companies mentioned in this website. We also use affiliate links to external websites where if used by the reader to purchase a service, product, accommodation, or any other item, we will receive a monetary reward at no extra cost to the purchaser.
These affiliate links often use cookies and special referral codes to track the site where a user has come from, and our partners use this referral traffic to monitor any purchases you make on their site.
However, we do not pass on your data to any other websites, and unless you physically enter your personal information onto the third party site, your data is not identifiable.
When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you subscribe to a newsletter opt-in, respond to a survey, fill out a form, leave a comment on a post, send us an email or enter information on our site.
We also have a Facebook pixel installed on our site that can collect any public information you have on your profile, and this can be used to target ads on the Facebook platform.
Facebook securely controls this data though, and we do not have any access to your Facebook profile, whether public or private, and cannot personally contact you on that platform.

To operate and maintain the Website.
Do we use ‘Cookies’?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognise your browser and capture and remember certain information.
For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart, if we ever have a shopping cart feature on our site.
They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.
We may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted, to provide you with a more personalised experience on the Website.
Third-Party Use Of Personal Information
We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly authorise us to share your information.
Additionally, the Website may use third-party service providers to service various aspects of the Website. Each third-party service provider’s use of your personal information is dictated by their respective privacy policies.
The Website currently uses the following third-party service providers:
Google Analytics – this service tracks Website usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the Website. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured by Google Analytics.
Mailchimp – this service is used for delivery of email updates and newsletters. We store your name and email address for purposes of delivering such communications. Please refer to Mailchimp’s privacy policy for further information.
At this time, your personal information is not shared with any other third-party applications. This list may be amended from time to time in the Website’s sole discretion. Except when required by law, we will not sell, distribute, or reveal your email addresses or other personal information without your consent; however, we may disclose or transfer personal information collected through the Website to third parties who acquire all or a portion of our business, which may be the result of a merger, consolidation, or purchase of all or a portion of our assets, or in connection with any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding brought by or against us.
Anonymous Data
From time to time, we may use anonymous data, which does not identify you alone, or when combined with data from other parties. This type of anonymous data may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. Examples of this anonymous data may include analytics or information collected from cookies.
Publicly Visible Information
If you create a user profile on the Website or leave a comment, certain information may be publicly visible. To create a user profile, you must choose a username and password and input your email address for profile confirmation. Your email address will never be available publicly. At your option, you may also add an avatar, a profile description, and a link to your website.
You may also choose to link your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google Account.
Users may see your username, avatar, profile description and website information.
Advertising
Display Ads – We may use third-party advertising companies to serve content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use cookies, as noted above. Please refer to their privacy policy for more information.
Retargeting Ads – From time to time, the Website may engage in remarketing efforts with third-party companies, such as Google, Facebook, or Instagram, in order to market the Website. These companies use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the Website.
Newsletters
On the Website, you may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns.
Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. Also, this allows the Website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behaviour will not be passed on to third parties.
We currently use third-party programs to manage our newsletter database and delivery. These programs include, but are not limited to, Mailchimp. These companies have their own privacy policies, and should be referred to on their individual websites if you have any concerns.
